QA Technician

Swanton, OH Swanton, OH Full-time Full-time From $20 an hour From $20 an hour Position Summary The Quality Technicians work with manufacturing and others within the company to problem solve and improve processes.
They work with Manufacturing to reduce process variation, perform test / inspection procedures and comply with systems that ensure that the products and processes fulfill quality standards, meet requirements, and satisfy customer expectations.
Essential Functions Must know basic quality terms and definitions.
Define internal and external customers, identify their expectations, and determine satisfaction levels.
Define internal and external suppliers and key elements of business relationship.
Basic Blue print reading Must have a general understanding of GD&T Understand basic concepts of problem solving.
Must have a basic understanding of calibrated tooling / equipment.
Working knowledge of basic metrology (e.
g.
, calipers, micrometers, gauges, analog, digital, Vernier).
Must have good written and verbal skills.
(English language).
Must be able to complete FAI / First Piece Inspection paperwork.
Must read and follow Procedures and work instructions.
Knowledge of product containment, segregation, and disposition.
Follow all company Policies and Procedures.
Must be able to identify and report nonconforming material.
Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent is required.
At least 1 year of manufacturing experience in a Quality Role.
A CQI or CQT is a plus.
Associates degree in a Quality discipline in lieu of experience.
Experienced in inspection and basic Metrology Basic understanding of Quality Management systems including ISO 9001 / AS9100 Basic computer knowledge (MS Office) Physical Requirements Routinely sit, sometimes for extended periods, and work on a computer; Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and/ or bend as required.
The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds infrequently.
Handling of different parts and measuring tools Occasionally walk to the manufacturing area where the noise level is louder.
