We are seeking motivated, assertive role models with excellent communications skills to join our team as summer group home staff.
We are seeking fair, consistent, considerate applicants for our Group Home Worker positions for both summer and permanent hires.
We will consider applicants looking for part- and full-time work, but our model of advancement starts with part-time training and work and advances to full time based on seniority and experience.
Youth Care Workers maintain a structured and safe environment for at-risk teenage boys in a treatment group home setting.
Youth Care Workers interact professionally with case workers, probation officers and other professionals involved in case management.
They ensure a safe, comfortable, and welcoming environment for youth and will provide age-appropriate activities with adaptations as needed.
Youth Care Workers model appropriate social skills while teaching the youth independent living and social skills.
You may help make meals for the youth and staff in the home during your shifts and/or supervise youth learning to cook meals.
During the summer and on weekend shifts, we may take kids on outings.
We take the boys to local Metro Parks, swimming, Mud Hens games, the Zoo, and out to movies.
Longer trips may be planned during school vacations and the summer.
Our location provides ample space to organize outdoor games and activities, swimming, fishing, and teaching grounds maintenance, gardening and cookouts.
We base pay on experience working with behavioral and mental health clients and relevant education, with preference for (but not limited to) completing courses in Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, Abnormal Psychology, and Child Psychopathology.
We value experience in education, event/recreation planning, cooking, household cleaning and basic maintenance.
Our benefits include paid pre-employment training and expenses, meals covered during shifts.
The costs of attending group home events, outings, and trips are also covered.
Holiday Pay.
Hours are scheduled each month and we attempt to match staff requests.
We work when the youth are home from school, after school and school vacations.
Our Group Home Worker staff may work from 16 hours to over 40 hours per week, depending on staff availability and the group home's needs, which dramatically increase over the summer and school breaks.
Applicants should be willing to work at least every other weekend.
Overtime is available based on group home needs (paid trips with the foster youth during school breaks are possible that may easily run beyond 40 hours) but is optional if you do not wish to work more than 32 hours a week.
The Lee Home is currently seeking candidates for our daytime, evening, and weekend shifts that include working with the teenage males within the home, ensuring their completion of daily chores, driving them to doctor appointments and athletic practices, sporting events, teaching life skills, keeping records of activities, and - especially important - use of a cognitive-behavioral motivational system to reinforce behavioral improvements.
Advancement and expanded hours availability possible after key milestones of experience are completed.
College junior and senior student applicants are welcome and may be considered for internship experiences if needed during fall and spring semesters as well as summer employment.
This job is included as service work eligible for tuition forgiveness, when available, via the government and/or institutions that promote social service work.

Qualifications:
- Minimum of 21 years of age, - High School diploma or GED, - Valid Ohio Driver's License with no DUI's the past 5 years, - Pass a criminal background check, medical exam, and drug screening (these expenses are paid/reimbursed) - Must have empathy and be able to carry out fair and balanced consequences, following an established treatment program.
